Designated Centres Vidéo en LSQ

There are designated centres in every region of Quebec, offering confidential services to sexual assault victims 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These centres are often located in hospital emergency departments, CLSCs and community clinics. Medical and psychological services are offered to children, adolescents, women and men who require an assessment and a medical or forensic examination.

The medico-social teams in the designated centres are made up of psychosocial care givers and nursing and medical personnel who are trained to assist victims of sexual assault.

In Montreal, there are four designated centres where recent sexual assault victims can receive psychological support and medical care. Any victim — child or adult, French- or English-speaking — will be given assistance at any of the four designated centres on the Island of Montreal.
